Wearable Devices Having Trouble Charming Customers

You'd think that after Samsung, Sony and others so eagerly promoted their smartwatches, ala Galaxy Gear, people would actually go out and buy them, but that's not the case.
Indeed, it turns out that sales of wearable gadgets in general, not just Android watches, are failing to grow.
Sure, the Galaxy Gear isn't really out yet. But channel retailers made an image of this market segment anyway.
Then again, maybe it’s exactly because of the Galaxy Gear that wearable gadgets aren't selling. I can't really say anything about the months leading up to IFA 2013, but in the time since then, prospective buyers may have decided, en masse, to hold off on buying gadgets like this until the Gear comes within their grasp.
Epson, Nike and Casio are preparing their own watches in the meantime.
