How to Bring Back the Old Gmail Compose – Guide

The switch to the new compose window in Gmail hasn't been taken lightly by many users. Some complain about any change, that's the nature of the web. But the switch to the new pop-up composer has some valid criticism.
People had gotten used to a certain workflow. The new Gmail compose window also has fewer options exposed by default, as it's designed for those who are used to Facebook messages and chat windows, not email power users.

For a while, Google ran both versions of the compose window in parallel, enabling people who liked the old one better to continue to use it. But this changed a few weeks ago when the new composer became the only option.

Most people begrudgingly adapted, but for those still craving the old composer, thankfully, there are options.

For example, the Old Style Compose Chrome extension does exactly what its name suggests: it replaces the compose window in Gmail with the old style one.

Everything you're accustomed to is there, even if it may not be a perfect replica. All you need to do is head over to the Chrome Web Store and grab the extension. It should work in the new Opera 15+ as well.
