Galaxy Note 3 Sees Slow Traction in South Korea

Following its official unveiling at the IFA 2013 show in Berlin, Samsung’s large Galaxy Note 3 went up for pre-order in South Korea, but it seems that its performance so far was slower than expected.
Recently, the mobile phone maker announced sales of over 40 million Galaxy Note devices (30 million of which were Galaxy Note 2 units), but it seems that the new handset hasn’t managed to attract users’ attention.
A recent article on ET News claims that all three major carriers in the country have seen slow demand for Galaxy Note 3 during the pre-order period, yet no specific numbers have been provided as of now.
As UnwiredView notes, this state of facts might be the result of a governmental decision to ban illegal subsidies for handsets, which drove the overall smartphone market in South Korea down by 30 percent.
Galaxy Note 3 arrived on shelves in various markets around the world starting today, and it remains to be seen whether it will feature a similar fate elsewhere as well.
