Android enthusiasts and fans in India will
probably be happy to know there’s a new XOLO smartphone now available
for purchase, the B700.
Although it does not come packed with a quad-core processor or an Intel chipset, XOLO B700 might be the perfect choice for those who prefer mid-range devices.
Potential customers can now purchase the XOLO B700 via multiple major
retailers, including Flipkart, for only Rs 8,999 outright, which is
about $165 or €130. Check it out here.
As AndroidOS
points out, XOLO B700 ships with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich
operating system out of the box. Given the fact that it’s highly
unlikely to get a Jelly Bean upgrade in the future, this is probably the
only downside.
The XOLO B700 offers dual-SIM (GSM/GSM) capability, so Indian customers
will be able to replace two of their devices with this one.
More B700 features include a good enough 4.3-inch qHD IPS capacitive
touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16
million colors.On the inside, XOLO
B700 is equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, possibly
manufactured by MediaTek, though this has yet to be confirmed. However,
we do know that the smartphone packs a PowerVR SGX 531 graphics
processing unit.
It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone sports only 512MB of RAM
and 4GB of internal memory that can be further expanded up to 32GB via
microSD memory card.
All in all, XOLO B700’s main selling point is the huge 3450 mAh Li-Ion
battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 380 hours of
standby time (365 hours in 3G mode) or up to 23 hours of talk time (20
hours in 3G mode).
Other highlights of the phone include: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity,
HSDPA (7.2MbpS0 and HSUPA (5.76Mbps), 5-megapixel rear camera and VGA
front-facing camera for video calls.
