Google has just updated the beta version
of Chrome browser for Android devices. The latest iteration contains
lots of bug fixes, as well as some improvements and new features.
In fact, this is one of the few updates that bring something new,
Password Sync and Autofill Sync. The first of the two new features will
be enabled within the coming days, as Google plans to sync with other
clients that are based on Chrome 26 or higher.
As usual, there are still a number of known issues that need to be addressed in future updates. Check out a short list below:
- Short flings decelerate too quickly;
- Keyboard reappears after being dismissed whilst text is underlined;
- On signing in to Chrome with a new account, Chrome to Mobile seeks authentication;
- Swype keyboard commits text after every setComposition();
- Occasional crashes and hangs.
Chrome Beta 26.0.1410.26 is now available as a free download via Google
Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running
Android 4.0 and up. Check it out here.
