MWC 2013: Huawei Ascend W1 Hands-On

Ascend W1 was the first Windows Phone 8 smartphone that Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei made official this year, though it might be followed by other similar devices in the not too distant future, rumor has it.

In the meantime, however, you can admire the Ascend W1 in the hands-on photos we snapped at MWC 2013 in Barcelona.

Officially launched at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, the handset packs a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor inside, and 512MB of RAM.

Furthermore, it sports 4GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a front camera for making video calls.

With a 1,950 mAh battery inside, the smartphone can easily prove a worthy competitor for Nokia’s newly launched Lumia 520, and even for last year’s Lumia 620, that’s for sure.
