Intel and Microsoft Partner Up to Bring All Ultrabooks into Touch Environment

Windows 8 has been out for a while now, but the lack of touch based PCs out there made it difficult for users to enjoy the experience 100%.  

The slow adoption of the new operating system could be also blamed on this factor. 

As reported Microsoft has teamed up with Intel in the hopes of making a difference in the touch based market by end of the year.   

Things are not all bad, but of course they can be greatly improved. Intel executive Kirk Skaugen explained at IDF that 70% of available Ultrabooks are touch sensitive. But the company wants to see that percent rise up to a full 100%.   

Touch enabled devices have been on the rise lately as vice president of industry analysis for the NPD Group, Stephen Baker claims.  

„Touch has been doing much better in August than in any other month.” Why? „A good umber of under -$500 Win 8 touch notebooks. I am increasingly optimistic that Touch will drive significant volumes this holiday.”   

That's exactly what Microsoft aims, to release a number of appealing 2in1 Windows 8 devices just in time for the holiday season shopping frenzy.
